My life

My name is Veronica Altimari. Thirty-two years old with a Bachelor's degree in English Literature. I work as a Senior Compliance Analyst. My passion is writing and has been since I first saw the movie, Harriet the Spy. My very first journal entry says, "My name is Veronica and I'm a spy"...well it was a lot less grammatically correct but you understand the point.

My family means the world to me because when I said I wanted to be a writer, they were always supportive. They believe in doing what makes you happy and I am eternally grateful to all of them for different reasons.

My friends are equally as important to me. Whenever I refer to one of my friends, I usually start with, "My best friend...".  I have a lot of best friends. Friends from childhood, the rough teen years, and adulthood (some spanning all those years). I would do anything for any of them and they know it but they've never taken advantage of my kindness. To me, they all deserve the title of "best".

I am a writer. A personal narrative I wrote was published in Holy Family University's literary magazine, Folio. I presented a paper on gangsters in film at a conference when I was in college. What truly makes me a writer (in my humble opinion) is the fact that I come home and write. I write stories, fanfiction, and essays. I write to put pen to paper or fingers to keys. I write so I don't go insane. It's the way I deal with every single issue in my life. It's the way I'm able to live. I live through my writing and I'm never more honest than when I write.

That's what you'll find here. Honesty about how I see the world and how I live in it.
