My name is Veronica Altimari. Twenty eight years old with a Bachelor's degree in English Literature. I work as a Technical Writer. My passion is writing and I've been doing it since I first saw the movie, Harriet the Spy. In fact my very first journal entry says, "My name is Veronica and I'm a spy"...well it was a lot less grammatically correct but you get the jist.
My family means the world to me because when I said I wanted to be a writer, they were always supportive. They believe in doing what makes you happy and I am eternally grateful to all of them for different reasons.
My family is unbelievably important to me but so are my friends. Whenever I refer to one of my friends, I usually start with, "My best friend...". I have a lot of best friends. Friends from childhood, the rough teen years, and adulthood (some spanning all those years). Most people limit their best friends to a certain number but why? I love them all for different reasons. I would do anything for any of them and they know it but they've never taken advantage of my kindness. To me, that means they all deserve the title of "best". On this blog, I'll touch on friendships a lot because I believe it to be one of the greatest aspects of life.
I am a writer. A personal narrative I wrote was published in Holy Family University's literary magazine, Folio. I presented a paper on gangsters in film at a conference when I was in college. But what truly makes me a writer (in my humble opinion) is the fact that I come home and write. I write stories, I write in journals, I write essays, I write just to put pen to paper or fingers to keys. I write so I don't go insane. It's the way I deal with every single issue in my life. It's the way I'm able to live. I live through my writing and I'm never more honest than when I write.
That's what you'll find here. Honesty about how I see the world and how I live in it.
